Slide Since 2017, we've been providing emergency relief to refugees and asylum seekers across Greece.
Providing sustainable humanitarian support to refugees and asylum seekers arriving in Greece.
Refugee 4 Refugees aims to promote the establishment of a participative global aid ecosystem, whereby refugees and asylum seekers can feel empowered through their active involvement in humanitarian and development interventions.

Founded by Omar Alshakal in 2017, our teams are active in three locations across Greece providing emergency relief 24/7 all year round. Read more about our current projects...
Lesvos >

In the new temporary RIC, our team of long-term volunteers work around the clock providing emergency relief, distributing essential NFIs from our warehouse and supporting the camp community with maintaining shelters during the winter period.

samos >

Our team on Samos manages the R4R warehouse, providing NFI’s to various actors around the island to support the population of refugees and asylum seekers in Vathy camp. We also support emergency response operations by supplying urgently needed items.

In winter of 2020, R4R began a new project on the mainland to support the urgent winterisation of camps around Athens. So far, in Eleonas camp we installed over 50 new weatherproof shelters to improve living conditions in advance of the harsh winter weather.

Our dedicated team of volunteers across Lesvos, Samos and Athens enable our projects to continue. We’re always looking for new team members to get involved, visit our volunteering page to learn more!
